The Canada Media Fund (CMF) fosters, develops, finances and promotes the production of Canadian content and applications for all audiovisual media platforms. The CMF receives financial contributions from the Government of Canada and Canada’s cable, satellite and IPTV distributors.

This commitment enabled the CMF to pursue strategies that build on its numerous endeavors, while at the same time developing new approaches, initiatives and programs that respond to the industry’s rapidly changing needs."

This vision was the cornerstone of our work in 2016-2017. Our objective is to ensure that our television and innovative digital media continue to be fundamental expressions of Canadian identity, and vehicles by which we tell our stories."
The CMF managed 64 partnerships across Canada and in key international markets to support stakeholder relations, stimulate coproduction, share industry research, and promote Canadian audiovisual content.
CMF-funded content continues to connect with audiences, both at home and abroad, and to garner industry-wide recognition at major awards ceremonies.
